2.—(1) In these Regulations –
“the principal Regulations” means Council Regulation (EEC) No. 259/93 on the supervision and control of shipments of waste within, into and out of the European Community(1);
“the Department” means the Department of the Environment.
(2) The expressions “notifier”, “notification” and “consignment note” used in these Regulations shall have the same meaning they bear in the principal Regulations.
(3) The Interpretation Act (Northern Ireland) 1954(2) shall apply to these Regulations as it applies to an Act of the Northern Ireland Assembly.
