The Department may provide at, or fix to any sign or post placed for the purposes of, a crossing in accordance with these Regulations any object, device, apparatus or equipment—
a
in connection with the proper operation of the crossing; or
b
which it considers appropriate for giving information or assistance to disabled persons wishing to use the crossing.
