The Secretary of State makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by Article 1(2) of the Criminal Justice (Northern Ireland) Order 20051.
Citation1
This Order may be cited as the Criminal Justice (2005 Order) (Commencement No. 2) Order (Northern Ireland) 2006.
Appointed day2
The day appointed for the coming into operation of the following provisions of the Criminal Justice (Northern Ireland) Order 2005 is 18 September 2006:
a
Articles 2 to 8;
b
Article 24;
c
Article 27 to the extent that it gives effect to the repeals specified in paragraph (d); and
d
Schedule 2 to the extent that it repeals provisions of the Anti-social Behaviour (Northern Ireland) Order 20042.

The following provisions of the Criminal Justice (Northern Ireland) Order 2005 were brought into operation on 19th August 2005 by the Criminal Justice (Northern Ireland) Order 2005 (Commencement No. 1) Order 2005 (S.R. 2005 No. 382 (C.29)):
Article 13 (Right to representation: loss of remission hearings);
Article 20 (Funding for speed cameras, etc); and
Article 22 (Right to representation: extradition proceedings).
