The Passenger and Goods Vehicles (Recording Equipment) (Tachograph Card) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2007

InterpretationN.I.

2.—(1) In these Regulations—

[F1“the EU Tachographs Regulation” means Regulation (EU) No. 165/2014 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 4 February 2014 on tachographs in road transport, as read with the Community Drivers’ Hours and Recording Equipment (Exemptions and Supplementary Provisions) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2009;]

“company card”, “control card”, “driver card” and “workshop card” have the meanings given by [F2Article 2 of the EU Tachographs Regulation] to the Community Recording Equipment Regulation;

“the Department” means the [F3Department for Infrastructure] ;

“PIN” means personal identification number for use in connection with a workshop card;

“relevant vehicle” means a vehicle in which there is recording equipment

(i)

which has been installed in accordance with the [F4EU Tachographs Regulation] ; and

(ii)

complies with Annexes IB and II to that Regulation;

“tachograph card” means a company card, control card, driver card or workshop card.

(2) The Interpretation Act (Northern Ireland) 1954(1) shall apply to these Regulations as it applies to an Act of the Northern Ireland Assembly.

[F5(3) A reference in this regulation to Annex IB to the EU Tachographs Regulation has effect, until the coming into force of that Annex, as a reference to Annex IB to Council Regulation (EEC) No. 3821/85 on recording equipment in road transport, as read with the Community Drivers’ Hours and Recording Equipment (Exemptions and Supplementary Provisions) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2009.]
