1. These Rules may be cited as the Industrial Court (Proceedings) (Amendment) Rules (Northern Ireland) 2007 and shall come into operation on 15th December 2007.
2. For the purposes of Article 92(3)(f) of the Industrial Relations (Northern Ireland) Order 1992, in the Schedule to the Industrial Court (Proceedings) Rules (Northern Ireland) 2007(3), after the entry related to “The European Cooperative Society (Involvement of Employees) Regulations 2006” there shall be inserted—
(a)in the first column “The Companies (Cross Border Mergers) Regulations 2007”;
(b)in the second column “S.I. 2007/2974”; and
(c)in the third column “regulations 24, 27(1), 32(1), 33(4), 41(6), 42(2), 46(2), 49(2), 53(1), 54(1), 55, 56 and 57, as read with Schedule 2”.

These Rules allow for any party to be represented by counsel or solicitor in proceedings before the Industrial Court arising from the Companies (Cross Border Mergers) Regulations 2007 by amending the Industrial Court (Proceedings) Rules (Northern Ireland) 2007.

The Departments (Transfer and Assignment of Functions) Order (Northern Ireland) 1999 (S.R. 1999/481) transferred functions under the Industrial Relations (Northern Ireland) Order 1992 to the Department of Higher and Further Education, Training and Employment, now renamed the Department for Employment and Learning
