Disapplication of dose limits

(1)

Regulation 12 of the 2017 Regulations does not apply to an emergency worker, where that emergency worker—

(a)

is engaged in preventing the occurrence of a radiation emergency; or

(b)

is acting to mitigate the consequences of a radiation emergency.

(2)

An emergency worker may be exposed to an effective dose not exceeding 500mSv whilst they are undertaking the activities set out in sub-paragraph (1).
