The Department for Regional Development in exercise of the powers conferred on it by Article 4(7) of the Traffic Management (Northern Ireland) Order 2005(1) makes the following Regulations:
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Penalty Charges (Exemption from Criminal Proceedings) (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2010 and shall come into operation on 1st July 2010.
2. In regulation 2(1) of the Penalty Charges (Exemption from Criminal Proceedings) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2006(2) for sub paragraph (e) substitute—
“(e)an offence under Article 27A(2) of the 1997 Order(3) (contravention of a taxi regulation order)”.

These Regulations further amend the Penalty Charges (Exemption from Criminal Proceedings) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2006 by substituting a new offence provision relating to taxi stands. The new provision is an offence under Article 27A(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation (Northern Ireland) Order 1997.
