This Order brings into operation certain provisions of the Work and Families (Northern Ireland) Order 2006 (S.I. 2006/1947 (N.I. 16)) (“the 2006 Order”).

• Those provisions which concern powers to make regulations governing additional paternity leave and pay come into operation on 9th September 2010.

• Other provisions concerning additional paternity leave and pay come into operation on 1st October 2010.

By virtue of Article 1(2) of the 2006 Order, Articles 1 and 2 of that Order came into operation on 26th July 2006. Certain other provisions of the 2006 Order were brought into operation by an earlier Commencement Order (as noted below).
