Coming into operation
The Department of the Environment having been designated1 for the purposes of section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 19722 in relation to measures relating to the prevention, reduction and elimination of pollution caused by waste and in relation to the environment.
The Department of the Environment acting in exercise of the powers conferred upon it by that section and by Articles 3(3)(a), 4(3), 5(7), 38(3)(a), 39(1), 39(3), 40(3), 48 and 77 of the Waste and Contaminated Land (Northern Ireland) Order 19973, hereby makes the following Regulations.
