Citation, commencement and interpretation

1.—(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Local Government (Councillors’ Remuneration Panel) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2012 and shall come into operation on 10th September 2012.
(2) In these Regulations—
“chairperson” means a person appointed by the Department in accordance with regulation 3(1)(a);
“the Department” means the Department of the Environment;
“the panel” means the panel established in accordance with regulation 2; and
“panel member” means a person appointed by the Department in accordance with regulation 3(1)(b).
