Appointed day

2.  1st May 2014 is the day appointed for the coming into operation of the following provisions of the Tobacco Retailers Act (Northern Ireland) 2014—

(a) section 1 (register of tobacco retailers);

(b) section 2 (application for registration);

(c) section 8 (restricted premises orders: display of notices);

(d) section 12 (fixed penalties for certain offences);

(e) section 13 (use of fixed penalty receipts);

(f) section 20 (vehicles, vessels, etc.);

(g) section 21 (service of notices in electronic form)

for the purpose of enabling the Department to make Regulations.
