The Local Government Pension Scheme Regulations (Northern Ireland) 201422 are amended as follows.

In regulation 17 (Employing authority contributions during absences), in paragraph (4) (b)—
a
omit “, or additional paternity leave”;
b
after “additional adoption leave” insert “or shared parental leave”.

In regulation 18 (Additional pension contributions), in paragraph (17)(a)—
a
omit “, or additional paternity leave”;
b
after “additional adoption leave” insert “or shared parental leave”.

In Schedule 1 (interpretation)—
a
omit the definition of “additional paternity leave”;
b
in the definition of “child-related leave”—
i
omit “(e) additional paternity leave during which the member receives some pensionable pay;”
ii
at the end insert—
f
shared parental leave during which the member receives some pensionable pay;
c
in the definition of “statutory pay” after “paternity” insert “, shared parental”;
d
at the appropriate place there is inserted—
“shared parental leave” means leave under the Shared Parental Leave Regulations (Northern Ireland) 201523;
