Amendment of the General Teaching Council for Northern Ireland (Constitution) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2001

2.—(1) The General Teaching Council for Northern Ireland (Constitution) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2001(1) are amended in accordance with paragraphs (2) and (3).
(2) For regulation 8A substitute—
“8A.—(1) The term of office of an elected member whose term of office is due to expire on 14th October 2015 shall be extended for a period of six months.
(2) Where the term of office has been extended under paragraph (1), the reference to “four years” in regulation 6(5) shall be read as if it were a reference to “five years and six months”.
(3) The term of office of a member appointed by the Department under regulation 7(d) whose term of office is due to expire on 14th October 2015 shall be extended until 29th February 2016.
(4) The term of office of a member mentioned in paragraph (1) or (3) shall end on 14th October 2019.”.
(3) In regulations 4(2) (eligibility for election, appointment and to vote in elections) and 8(4) (term of office), omit sub-paragraph (a).
