Coming into operation

The Department of the Environment makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by Articles 61(1), 66(1) and 218(1) of the Road Traffic (Northern Ireland) Order 19811.

Citation and commencement1

These Regulations may be cited as the Public Service Vehicles (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2015 and shall come into operation on 6th April 2015.

Amendment of the Public Service Vehicles Regulations2

The Public Service Vehicles Regulations (Northern Ireland) 19852 are amended in accordance with paragraphs (2) and (3).

In regulation 73 (licence, disc and plates)—

a

in paragraph (2) omit “in the case of a bus, issue a disc and,”;

b

omit paragraphs (3) and (4); and

c

in paragraph (5) omit “disc referred to in paragraph (2) and the”.

Omit Schedule 94 (identifying symbols for bus and taxi discs).

These Regulations amend the Public Service Vehicles Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1985 to remove the requirement to display a vehicle test disc on a bus.
