These Regulations may be cited as the Health Protection (Coronavirus, Restrictions) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2020 and shall come into operation at 11.00 p.m. on 28th March 2020.

In these Regulations—

• “coronavirus” means severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2);

• “person responsible for carrying on a business” includes the owner, proprietor and manager of that business;

• “vulnerable person” includes—

  1. a

     any person aged 70 or older;

  2. b

     any person under 70 who has an underlying health condition, including but not limited to, the conditions listed in Schedule 1;

  3. c

     any person who is pregnant.

Any reference in these Regulations to a person designated by the Department of Health includes a reference to an authorised officer employed by a person so designated.
