17. Essential water / sewerage worker

A worker engaged in essential or emergency works—

a

related to water supplies and sewerage services, and

b

carried out by a relevant undertaker,

where they have travelled to the United Kingdom in the course of their work.

For the purposes of this paragraph—

a

“essential or emergency works” includes—

i

inspections, maintenance, repairs, and asset replacement activities,

ii

monitoring, sampling and analysis of water supplies under the Private Water Supplies Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2017 M1, or the Water Supply (Water Quality) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2017 M2,

b

“sewerage services” has the meaning given in Article 2(2) of the Water and Sewerage Services (Northern Ireland) Order 2006 M3,

c

“relevant undertaker” has the meaning given Article 2(2) of the Water and Sewerage Services (Northern Ireland) 2006.
