The Department for the Economy, in exercise of powers conferred by section 5(5) of the Parental Bereavement (Leave and Pay) Act (Northern Ireland) 2022(1), makes the following order.
Citation and Interpretation
1. This Order may be cited as the Parental Bereavement (Leave and Pay) Act (Northern Ireland) 2022 (Commencement No.1) Order (Northern Ireland) 2022.
2. In this Order, “the Act” means the Parental Bereavement (Leave and Pay) Act (Northern Ireland) 2022.
Appointed day
3. The day appointed for the coming into operation of Part 1 of the Schedule to the Act (and section 4 of the Act in so far as it relates to that Part) is the 23rd March 2022.

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order brings into operation Part 1 of the Schedule (and Part 4 so far as it relates to that Part) to the Parental Bereavement (Leave and Pay) Act (Northern Ireland) 2022 (c. 5). Part 1 of the Schedule makes consequential amendments to other legislation, including references to Parental Bereavement Leave and Pay where relevant.
