The Department for Communities(1), in exercise of the powers conferred by Article 64 and 148(1) of the Housing (Northern Ireland) Order 2003(2) hereby makes the following Order:

Citation and commencement

1.  This Order may be cited as the Housing Renovation etc. Grants (Grant Limit) (Amendment) Order (Northern Ireland) 2023 and shall come into operation on 1st February 2023.

Amendment of the Housing Renovation etc. Grants (Grant Limit) Order (Northern Ireland) 2003

2.—(1) Article 2 (Maximum Amount) of the Housing Renovation etc. Grants (Grant Limit) Order (Northern Ireland) 2003(3) is amended in accordance with paragraphs (2) and (3).

(2) In paragraph (1)(b), for “£25,000” substitute “£35,000”.

(3) In paragraph (2) –

(a)For “£25,000” substitute “£35,000”,

(b)For “£50,000” substitute “£70,000”.

Saving Provision

3.  This Order shall not have effect in relation to an application for a grant made before 1st February 2023.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)

The Housing Renovation etc. Grants (Grant Limit) Order (Northern Ireland) 2003 makes provision in relation to the amount of housing grants that the Housing Executive may pay.

These Regulations amend Articles 2 and 3 of the Housing Renovation etc. Grants (Grant Limit) Order (Northern Ireland) 2003 enabling the Housing Executive to pay a higher maximum amount of mandatory disabled facilities grant.
