The Social Security (Income and Capital Disregards) (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2023

Coming into operation
The Department for Communities1, makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 122(1)(a) and (d), 129A(2), 131(1), 132(3) and (4), 132A(3) and 171(1), (3) and (4) of the Social Security Contributions and Benefits (Northern Ireland) Act 19922, Section 165(4) of the Social Security Administration (Northern Ireland) Act 19923, Articles 6(5), 14(1) and (4) and 36(2)(a) of the Jobseekers (Northern Ireland) Order 19954, paragraph 8 of Schedule 1 to the Social Security (Recovery of Benefits) (Northern Ireland) Order 19975, and now vested in it6, sections 2(3)(b), 15(3) and (6) and 19(1), (2)(a) and (3) of the State Pension Credit Act (Northern Ireland) 20027, sections 4(2) and 17(1) and (3) of the Welfare Reform Act (Northern Ireland) 20078 and Article 48(1) and (2)(a) of, and paragraph 4(1) and (3) of Schedule 1 to, the Welfare Reform (Northern Ireland) Order 20159.
The powers are exercisable by the Department for Communities by virtue of Article 2 to the Welfare Reform (Northern Ireland) Order 2015 (Cessation of Transitory Provision) Order 202010.
Regulations 5 and 6 are made with the consent of the Department of Finance11.

These Regulations may be cited as the Social Security (Income and Capital Disregards) (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2023 and come into operation on 9th July 2023.

The Interpretation Act (Northern Ireland) 195412 shall apply to these Regulations as it applies to an Act of the Assembly.
Amendment of the Income Support (General) RegulationsI22
