The Scottish marine region for the Forth and Tay

12.—(1) That part of the Scottish marine area, the boundaries of which are identified in paragraphs (2) to (5), is designated as a Scottish marine region to be known as ‘the Scottish marine region for the Forth and Tay’.

(2) It is bounded to the south and west by the landward limit of the Scottish marine area between—

(a)the point described in paragraph (5)(b); and

(b)the point described in paragraph (3)(a)(i).

(3) It is bounded to the north by—

(a)firstly, a line between—

(i)the point on the mainland of Scotland where a line between the co-ordinates 56°45′43″ north latitude, 02°26′21″ west longitude and 56°45′27″ north latitude, 02°25′20″ west longitude intersects the landward limit of the Scottish marine area; and

(ii)the co-ordinate 56°45′27″ north latitude, 02°25′20″ west longitude;

(b)secondly, a line between the co-ordinates 56°45′27″ north latitude, 02°25′20″ west longitude and 56°44′09″ north latitude, 01°59′07″ west longitude, defined by joining sequentially the following co-ordinates—

; and

(c)thirdly, a line of shortest distance between the co-ordinate 56°44′09″ north latitude, 01°59′07″ west longitude and the seaward limit of the Scottish marine area.

(4) It is bounded to the east by the seaward limit of the Scottish marine area between—

(a)the point it meets the line described in paragraph (3)(c); and

(b)the co-ordinate 55°55′01″ north latitude, 01°43′32″ west longitude(1).

(5) It is bounded to the south-east by the limit of the Scottish marine area between—

(a)the co-ordinate 55°55′01″ north latitude, 01°43′32″ west longitude; and

(b)the most southerly point on its landward limit on the east coast of Scotland.
