EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Regulations)
These Regulations bring into force the Letting Agent Code of Practice set out in the Schedule. It makes provision about—
(a)the standards of practice of persons who carry out letting agency work;
(b)the handling of tenants’ and landlords’ money by those persons; and
(c)the professional indemnity arrangements to be kept in place by those persons.
A Business Regulatory Impact Assessment has been prepared and placed in the Scottish Parliament Information Centre. Copies can be obtained from Better Homes Division, Victoria Quay, Edinburgh, EH6 6QQ, and are available on line at www.legislation.gov.uk.

Draft Policy Note

They aim to make the Draft Scottish Statutory Instrument accessible to readers who are not legally qualified and accompany any Scottish Statutory Instrument or Draft Scottish Statutory Instrument laid before the Scottish Parliament from July 2012 onwards.
