The Pollution Prevention and Control Act 1999 (Commencement No. 2) (Scotland) Order 2000
Citation, extent and interpretation1.
(1)
This Order may be cited as the Pollution Prevention and Control Act 1999 (Commencement No. 2) (Scotland) Order 2000 and extends to Scotland only.
(2)
In this Order, “the Act” means the Pollution Prevention and Control Act 1999.
Provisions of the Act coming into force on 29th September 20002.
The following provisions of the Act shall come into force on 29th September 2000:–
(a)
section 6(1), so far as relating to the paragraphs of Schedule 2 to the Act referred to in paragraph (b) below; and
(b)
paragraphs 1, 3, 5, 6, 9, 10, 11, 12, 14, 16, 17 and 18 of Schedule 2 to the Act.

Article 2 of this Order brings into force, on 29th September 2000, section 6(1) of and paragraphs 1, 3, 5, 6, 9, 10, 11, 12, 14, 16, 17 and 18 of Schedule 2 to the Pollution Prevention and Control Act 1999 in so far as they extend to Scotland.
Section 6(1) introduces Schedule 2 to the 1999 Act, which contains a list of consequential and minor amendments. The consequential amendments commenced by this Order are consequential on section 2 of the 1999 Act (regulation of polluting activities).
There is one minor amendment commenced by this Order (at paragraph 5 of Schedule 2) which is an amendment to section 77(2) of the Environmental Protection Act 1990 (waste disposal licences– transition from Part I of the Control of Pollution Act 1974).
