The Legal Aid (Scotland) Act 1986 (Commencement No. 4) Order 2001

The Scottish Ministers, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 46(2) of the Legal Aid (Scotland) Act 1986(1) and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, hereby make the following Order:

Citation

1.  This Order may be cited as the Legal Aid (Scotland) Act 1986 (Commencement No. 4) Order 2001.

Commencement of provisions

2.  The provisions of Part V of the Legal Aid (Scotland) Act 1986, insofar as they are not already in force, shall come into force on 2nd November 2001.

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order provides for the coming into force of sections 26 to 28 of the Legal Aid (Scotland) Act 1986 (“the Act”). These sections relate to the employment of solicitors by the Scottish Legal Aid Board. All provisions of the Act have now been commenced.
