The Scottish Ministers, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 18(1) of the Criminal Justice (Scotland) Act 2003(1) and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, hereby make the following Order:
1. This Order may be cited as the Victims' Rights (Prescribed Bodies) (Scotland) Order 2003 and shall come into force on 25th November 2003.
2. Victim Support Scotland is prescribed for the purposes of section 18(1) of the Criminal Justice (Scotland) Act 2003.

This Order prescribes Victim Support Scotland as a body which appears to Scottish Ministers to provide counselling or other support to those who have been victims of crime for the purposes of section 18(1) of the Criminal Justice (Scotland) Act 2003.
The effect of the Order is that where it appears to a constable that an offence has been perpetrated against a natural person, the constable may, with the person’s consent, disclose to Victim Support Scotland the information set out in section 18(1) of that Act.
