This Order brings into force provisions of the Serious Organised Crime and Police Act 2005 which amend the Private Security Industry Act 2001 (“the 2001 Act”) in its application to Scotland. This Order commences the amendments in Schedule 15 for England and Wales on 6th April 2007.

Sections 15 and 18 of the 2001 Act are not yet in force in Scotland. Those sections of the 2001 Act are to be brought into force for Scotland on 6th April 2007 by a commencement order made under the 2001 Act. Sections 15 and 18 of the 2001 Act are already in force in England and Wales. The amendments being made to sections 15 and 18 by this Order have already been made to those sections in so far as they apply to Scotland by the Serious Organised Crime and Police Act 2005 (Commencement No. 7) Order 2006. The amendments in respect of Scotland made to those sections by virtue of this Order will take effect for England and Wales on 6th April 2007, the same date on which those sections are brought into force in Scotland.
