1.—(1) This Order may be cited as the Pollution Prevention and Control (Designation of Batteries Directive) (Scotland) Order 2008 and comes into force on 17th March 2008.
(2) This Order extends to Scotland only.
2. Directive 2006/66/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council on batteries and accumulators and waste batteries and accumulators and repealing Directive 91/157/EEC(1) is designated for the purposes of paragraph 20 of Part I of Schedule 1 to the Pollution Prevention and Control Act 1999.
