Act of Sederunt (Registration Appeal Court) 2009

The Lords of Council and Session, under and by virtue of the powers conferred upon them by section 57(2) of the Representation of the People Act 1983(1) and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, do hereby enact and declare:

Citation and commencement

1.—(1) This Act of Sederunt may be cited as the Act of Sederunt (Registration Appeal Court) 2009 and shall come into force on 9th February 2009.

(2) This Act of Sederunt shall be inserted in the Books of Sederunt.

Registration Appeal Court

2.—(1) The court for hearing appeals under section 57(1)(b) of the Representation of the People Act 1983 shall consist of the Right Honourable Lord Nimmo Smith, the Right Honourable Lord Clarke and the Honourable Lord Emslie.

(2) The Act of Sederunt (Registration Appeal Court) 2007(2) is revoked.

This Act of Sederunt appoints three judges to hear registration appeals under section 57 of the Registration of the People Act 1983 and revokes the Act of Sederunt (Registration Appeal Court) 2007
