The Health Boards (Membership and Elections) (Scotland) Act 2009 (Commencement No. 2) Order 2009

The Scottish Ministers make the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by section 11(4) of the Health Boards (Membership and Elections) (Scotland) Act 20091 and all other powers enabling them to do so.

Citation1

This Order may be cited as the Health Boards (Membership and Elections) (Scotland) Act 2009 (Commencement No. 2) Order 2009.

The appointed day for paragraph 1 of the schedule2

The day appointed for the coming into force of paragraph 1 of the schedule to the Health Boards (Membership and Elections) (Scotland) Act 2009 is 8th January 2010.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order appoints 8th January 2010 as the day on which paragraph 1 of the schedule to the Health Boards (Membership and Elections) (Scotland) Act 2009 (“the Act”) comes into force.

Paragraph 1 of the schedule to the Act amends paragraph 4 of Schedule 1 to the National Health Service (Scotland) Act 1978 and adds such members of committees and sub-committees of Health Boards as may be prescribed to the categories of persons who the Scottish Ministers may pay remuneration to.

The following provisions of the Act have been brought into force in respect of Fife Health Board and Dumfries and Galloway Health Board only by a commencement order made before the date of this Order:—
