The Pollution Prevention and Control (Scotland) Regulations 2012, Section 3 is up to date with all changes known to be in force on or before 19 October 2024. 3.—(1) In these Regulations—
“1990 Act” means the Environmental Protection Act 1990 M1,
“1995 Act” means the Environment Act 1995 M2,
“2000 Regulations” means the Pollution Prevention and Control (Scotland) Regulations 2000 M3,
“Batteries Directive” means Directive 2006/66/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council on batteries and accumulators and waste batteries and accumulators and repealing Directive 91/157/EEC M4 [F1, as last amended by Directive (EU) 2018/849 of the European Parliament and of the Council],

[F3“Energy Efficiency Directive” means Directive 2012/27/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council on energy efficiency, amending Directives 2009/125/EC and 2010/30/EU and repealing Directives 2004/8/EC and 2006/32/EC,]
“Hazardous Substances Regulation” means Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 of the European Parliament and of the Council on classification, labelling and packaging of substances and mixtures, amending and repealing Directives 67/548/EEC and 1999/45/EC, and amending Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 M5,
“Industrial Emissions Directive” means Directive 2010/75/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council on industrial emissions (integrated pollution prevention and control) (recast) M6,
“Landfill Regulations” means the Landfill (Scotland) Regulations 2003 M7,
[F4“Medium Combustion Plant Directive” means Directive (EU) 2015/2193 of the European Parliament and of the Council on the limitation of emissions of certain pollutants into the air from medium combustion plants,]
[F5“Waste Framework Directive” means Directive 2008/98/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council on waste and repealing certain Directives, as last amended by [F6Directive (EU) 2018/851 of the European Parliament and of the Council].]
(2) An expression in relation to batteries defined in Article 3 of the Batteries Directive has the same meaning in these Regulations as in that Directive.
(3) A reference to any other term defined in the Industrial Emissions Directive has the same meaning in these Regulations as in that Directive.
