The Scottish Ministers make the following Order in exercise of the power conferred by section 12(3) of the National Library of Scotland Act 2012(1).

Citation and commencement

1.  This Order may be cited as the National Library of Scotland Act 2012 (Commencement) Order 2013 and comes into force on 1st February 2013.

Appointed day

2.  The appointed day for the coming into force of the National Library of Scotland Act 2012, insofar not already in force, is 1st February 2013.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order brings the National Library of Scotland Act 2012 (“the Act”) fully into force on 1st February 2013. By virtue of section 12(1) of the Act, sections 11, 12 and 13 came into force on 22nd June 2012, the day after Royal Assent. By virtue of section 12(2), paragraph 1 of schedule 2 and section 10(1), insofar as it introduces that paragraph, came into force on 21st August 2012.
