National Health Service (Scotland) Act 19782

The National Health Service (Scotland) Act 19788 is amended as follows.

In section 10ZA9 (provision of patient advice and support service)—
a
in subsection (4), after paragraph (d) insert—
e
an integration joint board.
b
in subsection (6)—
i
the word “and” immediately following paragraph (a) is repealed; and
ii
after that paragraph insert—
ab
an integration joint board, and

In section 1310 (co-operation between Health Boards and other authorities), after “local authorities” insert “, integration joint boards”.

In section 108 (interpretation and construction), in subsection (1)—
a
after the definitions of “area medical committee” etc. insert—
“community care services” has the meaning given by section 12A(8) of the Social Work (Scotland) Act 1968;
b
after the definition of “illness” insert—
“integration joint board” means an integration joint board established under section 9(2) of the Public Bodies (Joint Working) (Scotland) Act 2014;

In Schedule 1 (Health Boards), in paragraph 8A11, the words “(within the meaning of section 5A(4) (local authority plans for community care services) of the Social Work (Scotland) Act 1968)” are repealed.

In Schedule 5 (the Agency), in paragraph 8A12, the words “(within the meaning of section 5A(4) (local authority plans for community care services) of the Social Work (Scotland) Act 1968)” are repealed.

In Schedule 7A13 (National Health Service Trusts), in paragraph 17, the words “(within the meaning of section 5A(4) (local authority plans for community care services) of the Social Work (Scotland) Act 1968)” are repealed.
