This S.S.I. has been made in consequence of a defect in the Loch Carron Nature Conservation Marine Protected Area Order 2017 and is being issued free of charge to all known recipients of the Loch Carron Urgent Marine Conservation Order 2017 (S.S.I. 2017/158).

Coming into force
The Scottish Ministers make the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 85(1)(a), (2) and (4), 86(1) and (3), and 88(1) and (2) of the Marine (Scotland) Act 20101 and all other powers enabling them to do so.
In accordance with section 85(1)(a) of that Act, this Order is made for the purpose of furthering the stated conservation objectives for the Loch Carron MPA2.
In accordance with section 88(1) of that Act, the Scottish Ministers consider there is an urgent need to protect the area as respects which this Order is made (and so an urgent need to make this Order).
