Amendment of the Rent (Scotland) Act 1984

3.—(1) The Rent (Scotland) Act 1984(1) is amended in accordance with paragraph (2).

(2) In section 3B(1)(a)(2) for “the day that section 1 of the Private Housing (Tenancies) (Scotland) Act 2016 comes into force” substitute “1 December 2017”.

Section 3B is inserted by paragraph 4 of schedule 5 of the Private Housing (Tenancies) (Scotland) Act 2016 (“the 2016 Act”). Paragraph 4 of schedule 5 of the 2016 Act comes into force on 1st December 2017 by virtue of these Regulations.
