The Loch Carron Marine Conservation Order 2019

The Scottish Ministers make the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 85(1)(a), (2) and (4), 86(1) and (3) and 88(1), (2) and (6) of the Marine (Scotland) Act 2010(1) and all other powers enabling them to do so.

In accordance with section 85(1)(a) of that Act, this Order is made for the purpose of furthering the stated conservation objectives for the Loch Carron MPA(2).

In accordance with section 87(2) of that Act, the Scottish Ministers have sent a copy of a draft of this Order to persons whom they considered were likely to be interested in or affected by the making of this Order.

In accordance with section 87(3) of that Act, the Scottish Ministers have placed a copy of a draft of this Order in such places as they considered were likely to be most convenient for the purpose of enabling it to be inspected by persons likely to be affected by the making of this Order.

In accordance with section 87(6) and (7) of that Act, the Scottish Ministers have published notice of their proposal to make this Order.

The Loch Carron Nature Conservation Marine Protected Area was designated by the Loch Carron Nature Conservation Marine Protected Area Order 2019 (“the 2019 Order”). The 2019 Order is available at https://www2.gov.scot/Topics/marine/marine-environment/mpanetwork/developing/CarronCO2019. Within the 2019 Order, the conservation objectives are set out in in article 5 and the protected features are specified in schedule 2.
