12.—(1) Subsections (2)(a)(1), (3) and (5) of section 41 (limits on period of detention without charge) are omitted.
(2) For section 41(2)(b)(i) there is substituted—
“(i)the time at which that person arrives at the first police station to which he is taken in England or Wales; or”.
(3) In section 41(2)(d) omit the words “, except where subsection (5) below applies,”.

Section 41(2) has been amended by section 12 of, and paragraphs 1 and 8 of Schedule 1 to, the Criminal Justice Act 2003 (c. 44).
