- Draft legislation
This is a draft item of legislation. This draft has since been made as a UK Statutory Instrument: The Representation of the People (Provision of Information Regarding Proxies) Regulations 2013 No. 3199
(This note is not part of the Regulations)
These Regulations enable registration officers in Great Britain to require other registration officers in Great Britain or Northern Ireland to provide information about whether a person, whom an absent voter wishes to appoint as their proxy, has or will have an entry in a register of parliamentary or local government electors maintained by that officer. This will enable registration officers to ensure that the appointment complies with paragraph 6(3) or (3A) of Schedule 4 to the Representation of the People Act 2000.
A full impact assessment has not been produced for this instrument as no, or no significant, impact on the private, voluntary or public sector is foreseen.
