The Lord President of the Council makes these Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 6(5) and 7(1) of the European Parliamentary Elections Act 20021.
The Lord President of the Council has consulted the Electoral Commission in accordance with section 7(1) and (2)(a) of the Political Parties, Elections and Referendums Act 20002
In accordance with section 13(2) of the European Parliamentary Elections Act 2002, a draft of these Regulations had been laid before and approved by a resolution of each House of Parliament.
