The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 8, 8B and 8C of, and paragraph 21 of Schedule 7 to, the European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018(1), makes the following Regulations.
In accordance with paragraph 1(1) of Schedule 7 to that Act, a draft of this instrument has been laid before Parliament and approved by a resolution of each House of Parliament.
PART 1Introductory
Citation and commencement
1.—(1) These Regulations may be cited as The Common Organisation of the Markets in Agricultural Products (Miscellaneous Amendments) (EU Exit) Regulations 2020.
(2) These Regulations come into force—
(a)as regards Part 2, on IP completion day;
(b)otherwise, immediately before IP completion day.

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Regulations)
These Regulations are made in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 8(1), 8B and 8C of, and paragraph 21 of Schedule 7 to, the European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018 (c. 16) in order to address failures of retained EU law to operate effectively and other deficiencies (in particular under section 8(2)(a), (b), (d) and (g)) arising from the withdrawal of the UK from the European Union, to implement Part 3 of the EU withdrawal agreement, to reflect the Protocol on Ireland/ Northern Ireland in the EU withdrawal agreement, and to make transitional provision.
These Regulations make amendments in the areas of agricultural market measures and organic production. Part 2 amends retained direct EU legislation. Part 3 amends subordinate legislation which amended retained direct EU legislation.
A full impact assessment has not been produced for this instrument as no, or no significant, impact on the private, voluntary or public sector is foreseen.
