Authorised person12.
(1)
The Secretary of State may, in writing, authorise any person (“an authorised person”) to act for the purposes of enforcing these Regulations.
(2)
A local authority in whose area a cat or a dog is kept may, in writing, authorise any person to act as an authorised person for the purposes of enforcing these Regulations in that area.
(3)
A police constable or a community support officer is also an authorised person for the purposes of these Regulations.
(4)
In this regulation, a “community support officer” means anyone so designated under section 38(1)(a) of the Police Reform Act 200210
