The directors of CIL may appoint a day to be the appointed day for the purposes of this Act.

Before the day so appointed CIL shall publish in the London Gazette, the Edinburgh Gazette and the Belfast Gazette notice of the day appointed, stating that it is the appointed day for the purposes of this Act.
