City of London (Ward Elections) Act 2002

2002 CHAPTER vi

An Act to make further provision with respect to the qualification of voters at ward elections in the city of London; and for connected purposes.

Whereas—

  1. (1)

    The qualification of voters at ward elections in the city of London is governed by Part II of the City of London (Various Powers) Act 1957 (c. x):

  2. (2)

    It is expedient to alter the qualification for which that Act provides better to reflect the present nature of commercial occupation of premises in the city of London by extending the categories of persons entitled to vote at such elections:

    It is expedient that the other connected matters dealt with in this Act should be enacted:

    The objects of this Act cannot be attained without the authority of Parliament:

May it therefore please Your Majesty that it may be enacted, and be it enacted, by the Queen’s most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
