4In this Part of this Schedule—
(a)the expression " the appointed day " has the same meaning as in section one of this Act;
(b)the expression " emoluments " has the same meaning as in the Local Government Act, 1933 ;
(c)the expression " local government service" means service under a local authority within the meaning of the Local Government Act, 1933, or the [2 & 3 Geo. 6. c. 40.] London Government Act, 1939, or the Common Council of the City of London;
(d)the expression " war service " has the same meaning as in section one of this Act.
