This is the original version (as it was originally enacted).
(1)Where a harbour revision order or a harbour reorganisation scheme transfers any premises used by one of the Boards in connection with its statutory powers and duties relating to harbours to some other authority or body the British Railways Board may make an agreement with that authority or body for making available the services of the British Transport Police Force to that authority or body for such period, to such extent and on such terms as may be specified in the agreement.
(2)Where such an agreement has been made members of the British Transport Police Force may act, in accordance with the terms of the agreement, as constables in, on and in the vicinity of the premises transferred by the order or scheme, notwithstanding the provisions of section 53(1) of the [1949 c. xxix.] British Transport Commission Act 1949 (which restricts them to so acting in, on and in the vicinity of premises belonging to, leased to or worked by one of the Boards).
(3)In this section "the British Transport Police Force" means the force established by a scheme made under section 69 of the [1962 c. 46.] Transport Act 1962.
