Subject to the following provisions of this section, the enactments specified in Schedule 2 to this Act are hereby repealed to the extent specified in the third column of that Schedule.

2

The repeal effected by the preceding subsection shall not affect the operation of any enactment as part of the law of any territory outside the United Kingdom, and accordingly shall not affect any Order in Council made under subsection (1) of section 64 of the [1932 c. 9.] Merchant Shipping (Safety and Load Line Conventions) Act 1932, or made by virtue of the [1890 c. 37.] Foreign Jurisdiction Act 1890 as modified by subsection (2) of that section, or any power to revoke or vary any such Order in Council.

3

Without prejudice to the last preceding subsection and to the operation of section 38 of the [1889 c. 63.] Interpretation Act 1889 (which relates to the effect of repeals), for the purposes of the transition from the law in force immediately before the commencement of this Act to the provisions of this Act the Board of Trade may by regulations provide that those provisions shall have effect subject to such transitional provisions as may be contained in the regulations.
