Antarctic Treaty Act 1967

The following animals and plants may be imported into the Treaty Area in accordance with permits issued under Article IX (2) of these Agreed Measures:

(a)

sledge dogs,

(b)

domestic animals and plants,

(c)

laboratory animals and plants [F1including viruses, bacteria, yeasts and fungi].

Textual Amendments

F1Annex C: By S.I. 1988/586, art. 3 it is provided that Annex C to the Agreed Measures, set out in Schedule 2 to the Antarctic Treaty Act 1967, is amended by inserting in subparagraph (c), after the word “plants”, the words “including viruses, bacteria, yeasts and fungi”
