Where a magistrates' court has power to commit an offender to a court of quarter sessions under section 5 of the [1824 c. 83.] Vagrancy Act 1824 (incorrigible rogues) or section 28 or 29 of the [1952 c. 55.] Magistrates' Courts Act 1952 (committal for sentence), the court may instead of committing him in custody commit him on bail.
