The Board of Trade may make rules for the conduct of inquiries under sections 52 and 54 of this Act and of formal investigations under section F156of this Act and for the conduct of any re-hearing under section 57 of this Act which is not held by the High Court or the Court of Session.

Without prejudice to the generality of the preceding subsection, rules under this section may provide for the appointment and summoning of assessors, the manner in which any facts may be proved, the persons allowed to appear, and the notices to be given to persons affected.

Rules of court made for the purpose of rehearings under section 57 of this Act which are held by the High Court, or of appeals to the High Court, may require the court, subject to such exceptions, if any, as may be allowed by the rules, to hold such a rehearing or hear such an appeal with the assistance of one or more assessors.
