This is the original version (as it was originally enacted).
(1)The Board of Trade shall appoint, and may remove, an officer to be styled the Registrar General of Shipping and Seamen, who shall exercise such functions as are conferred on him by the Merchant Shipping Acts and keep such records and perform such other duties as the Board of Trade may direct.
(2)The Board of Trade may appoint and remove persons to perform on behalf of the Registrar General of Shipping and Seamen such of his functions as the Board or the Registrar General of Shipping and Seamen may direct.
