This Act may be cited as the Agriculture Act 1970.

Except in so far as the context otherwise requires, any reference in this Act to any enactment shall be construed as a reference to that enactment as amended, extended or applied by or under any other enactment, including any enactment contained in this Act.

The inclusion in this Act of any express saving, transitional provision or amendment shall not be taken as affecting the operation in relation to this Act of F2sections 16(1) and 17(2) (a) of the M1Interpretation Act 1978 (which relates to the effect of repeals).
