(1)Where, in the case of any requirement as to structural fire precautions contained in building regulations or any requirement imposed by such regulations by virtue of section 11 of this Act, the power to dispense with or relax that requirement conferred by section 6(1) of the [1961 c. 64.] Public Health Act 1961 is by virtue of section 6(2) of that Act exercisable by a local authority, then, before exercising that power in relation to any premises or proposed premises, the local authority, if they are not the fire authority, shall consult the fire authority.
(2)This section does not extend to Scotland.
